| The 1st day in Maui started out at Tedeschi Vineyards and Ulupalakua Ranch on the bottom of Haleakala, it's Maui's only commercial winery. It was a beautiful drive to the ranch/winery with breathtaking views of the ocean and landscape I just wish they someday build a bypass road since we could see our hotel right below us. Tedeschi Vineyards is the Valley Isle's sole commercial winery boasting a varied selection of wines including sparkling, pineapple, grape and raspberry dessert wine. I thought the wines were alright, but a little too sweet and bubbly for my palette luckily the tasting was complimentary and we ended up getting a bottle to take back to the hotel to pair with dinner. We picked up a sandwich from the ranch market, but they sold various types of beef dishes/raw meat and rumor has it they feed the beef pineapples. The 2nd stop was a drive up Haleakala to Skyline Eco Adventures Zipline tours. I highly recommend ziplining it was a very exhilerating euphoric experience that I'd like to do again and again. The hike was a short 10 minutes through the eucalyptus forrest learning about the environment and birds at each of the five ziplines. The first few were mellow and short to get everyone warmed up and the last two were the best! The guides were very professional, funny, and knowledgable so I highly recommend this tour. |
