Happy Holidays Shopping!

It is the holiday season and I am trying to be the best uncle I can be.  This year I did something different and asked my nephews what they wanted for Christmas instead of guessing.

Here is what they said:

Nephew number 1...  He wants Hot Wheels.  First thing I do is check Amazon.  I do some research and see that it is a pretty cool looking toy.  I head over to Target looking for the Hot Wheels Sky Jump.  The set is on sale!  But none of them are on the shelves.  I see a Target employee and ask her if they have any in the back.  She says there are a bunch and that they will bring it up front for me.  AWESOME!  While I wait, I help her clean up the shelves.  After a while, she goes back and gets a set personally for me.  Thank you!

Nephew number 2...  He wants Transformers.  I ask him which one.  He says Bumblebee.  I go to Amazon again to check out the "cool" factor.  I head out to a store to see what it looks like up close.  I check out three different stores and no luck.  I even met a fellow shopper who was in a similar predicament.  Eventually I found the Transformers Dark Side of the Moon Bumblebee.  He should've asked for the Optimus Prime.  It was bigger, more expensive, and looked cooler.

Nephew number 3...  This nephew lives in Hilo.  I give my brother a call and ask to speak to him.  I innocently ask him what he wants.  He says he doesn't have his own phone.  So I ask him if he wants an iPod touch.  He says no.  He wants an iPad.  I was kind of in shock.  I told him that his hands are too small for an iPad and if he wanted anything else.  He said he wants a DS.  I say okay.  I get him a DS Lite.

Nephew number 4...  He is a year old so I got him a savings bond.  That one was easy.

So the moral of this story is...  If you have nephews and it is christmas you can buy them pretty much the same toys that you wanted when you were their age.  Also, get them cool toys that you can play with too!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!
