This Video was edited by: Lee Larkins Street Fighterz Ride of the Century 2011 in St. Louis, MO. This was my first Ride of the Century and I was blown away by the talent I saw on the streets. Normally I don't deal with this activity, but the guys I met really changed my perspective on the culture. Keep up the good work, stay safe out there, and look forward to next year. Originally from Hilo, my experience ranges from digital interface and graphic design to 3D modeling and animation. However, my background and passion is in photography and sculpture. My work has been featured at various galleries throughout Hawaii including the University of Hawaii, the Honolulu Academy of Arts and the Louis Pohl Gallery.
Currently, my focus is on developing physical sculptures through a technique called 3D printing. The technique that I use is similar to clay hand building. In the same way a sculptor works with clay, my sculpting involves “electronic clay” or e-clay in the computer.
Often, I begin with research on the internet. I look for inspiration or references in images I find. I then envision my sculpture and try to capture that vision in a sketch. In the sketch, I try to record specific aspects of my vision to guide me as I work. Rather than creating a detailed drawing, I let the piece evolve as I move the e-clay around.
